Despite the ascendancy of social networking, email remains by far the most widely used service amongst UK adults with access to the internet. Consumers’ need to stay up to date and on the move drives high percentages of usage. Yet whilst many consumers have been converted to doing their shopping and banking on the web, uptake across other areas, such as downloading music or booking holidays, remains comparatively low going into 2013.
